Live Fire Exercise of Rocket Artillery Battalion

The live fire exercise of the GOMBR Rocket Artillery Battalion was held from 2 to 5 May 2012 at the military installation “Eugen Kvaternik” near Slunj.

Shooting was conducted from four 122-mm howitzer D-30 on targets  9500-11000 metres away.
Good results show that the unit had achieved the requisite level of training according to NATO standards and Force Goals.

Emphasizing their satisfaction with the successful firing performed, Rocket Artillery Battalion Commander Col. Damir Glavačević, said that in this exercise, for the first time was introduced tactical-operations center which mission was, in accordance with Force Goals, to collect all data from the battlefield, number them, determine priorities and determine which tasks will be conducted by which fire units. He also pointed out that all procedures have been conducted in English and in line with NATO standards.

The commander of the shooting, Captain Josip Jolić expressed his pleasure with accurate and effective hits and high professionalism of all participants on the exercise.
