Selection flying of candidates for military pilots

The selection flying for military pilots began on 24 July 2012 in the 93rd Air Force Base in Zemunik Barracks.

The first flight on a Zlin 242 L plane was preceded by a technical classroom and applied theory in which the participants adopted the basic theoretical knowledge of flying and technical characteristics of ZLIN aircraft.

Practical flight training include basic manoeuvres of aircraft on the ground and in the air (run, takeoff, landing, turns, stunts) through 9 hours of flight time per participant.

At the end of the selection cycle, test flights have been conducted where the degree of adoption of some elements of the flight of the candidates is assessed, while the final assessment is made by an expert committee of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence. Candidates who meet the required criteria continue to study at the Faculty of Transport Sciences, Department of Aeronautics-military pilots, and afterwards they return to the Zemunik Barracks where they conduct the practical flight training.
