Honour paid to fallen soldiers
On the occasion of the Victory and Homeland Gratitude Day, the Day of Croatian Defenders, and upon the 17th anniversary of the “Storm Operation”, this morning, the delegations of the Croatian Navy, City of Split, Split – Dalmatia County, representatives of associations from the Homeland War and family members of fallen defenders paid honour to the fallen Croatian defenders by laying wreaths and burning candles.
On behalf of the Croatian Navy, Commander, Rear Admiral Ante Urlić accompanied by the Commander of the Coast Guard Captain Marin Stošić laid wreaths in front of the Central Cross at Lovrinac Cemetery and in the Cemetery of Veterans.
A military chaplain of the Croatian Navy, Branimir Projić and imam of Split Vahid effendi Hadžić held a commemorative prayer for fallen Croatian soldiers.
Tribute to victims from the Homeland War was also paid by playing taps.
In this way, with respect and gratitude, honour was paid to all Croatian defenders, especially those who gave their lives on the path toward a safe and peaceful development of our country toward a better future.
