CAF FF TF engaged on 30 fire sites over the weekend

Over the weekend, from 24 to 26 August 2012, Air Force of the CAF Fire-fighting Task Force (CAF FF TF) was engaged on the thirty fire sites along the Croatian coast and in ​​Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

On Friday, August 24, five Canadairs, four Air Tractors and two Mi-8 MTV1 transport helicopters were engaged at ten different fires sites: in the region of the Pazariški Bakovac at Kosinje, at Nerežišće on the Brač Island, in the area of ​​Nadin, in Blace in the municipality of Slivno, in area between Topola and Imotica, next to Komiža on the Island of Vis, in Gornje Ploče near Udbina, at Dugobabe in Kozjak hinterland, near Perković and Cetina Canyon near Podgrađe. CAF FF TF aircraft dropped 249 water bombs or 1156 tons of water, and achieved 36 flight hours.

On Saturday, August 25, six Canadairs, four Air Tractors and two Mi-8 MTV1 transport helicopters were engaged on nine different fire sites along the coast and in the hinterland. CAF FF TF aircraft dropped on Saturday 394 water bombs or 1928 tons of water, and achieved 47 flight hours.

Besides having been engaged on the Croatian coast, in accordance with the Decision of the Government, CAF FF TF on Saturday was engaged in extinguishing a large forest fire in the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. One CL-415 Canadair took off from the Zadar airport at 5.55 am and headed to the area of ​​ Veliko i Malo Rujište near Mostar, where it was engaged the entire morning with a one-hour break for the refuelling. It returned to Croatia after 13.00 hours.

On Sunday, August 26, four Canadairs, three Air Tractors and two transport helicopters were involved in eleven different fires throughout the coastline. CAF FF TF aircraft dropped on Sunday 297 water bombs or 1422 tons of water, and achieved 26 flight hours.
