4th Generation graduates from Officers’ Functional Area Training
At the Croatian Defence Academy in Zagreb on Friday 2013 a ceremony was held marking the successful completion of the 4th generation of the officers’ progressive and sequential functional area training. The 43 trainees from all the services of the Croatian Armed Forces were presented with the respective certificates.
The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Director of the Defence Academy and Commander of the “Ban Josip Jelačić” War School, Brig. Gen. Slaven Zdilar, the Dean of the Academy, Col. Željko Akrap, the commander of the Command and Staff School, Col. Ivan Zelić, the representatives of the Directorates of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, the heads of the Departments of the Academy and the lecturers administering the Training.
The progressive and sequential training, lasting four months and comprising 460 lessons, constitutes military training at the third level and was designed to prepare the trainees for staff and command duties. It comprised three modules – the general and the functional area module respectively and the Senior Staff Officer Course. The Croatian Defence Academy is responsible for the first module and the Course, while the Directorates of the General Staff were the lead units for the second module.
