“Kuna” Battalion Celebrates 6th Anniversary

The “Kuna” Tank Battalion of the Mechanised Guard Brigade of the Croatian Army celebrated its 6th anniversary at the “Dračice” barracks in Đakovo on 9 May 2013.

The Battalion is a successor and bears the name of the glorious 3rd Guard Brigade from the Homeland War.

The anniversary was celebrated by a ceremonial review of the members of the Battalion and an address by the Commander of the Mechanised Guard Brigade, Brig. Gen. Siniša Jurković, who  presented the current and the future tasks of the Brigade and the “Kuna” Battalion respectively.

Brig. Gen. Jurković pointed to the need and importance of continuous training and education of the entire personnel to capacitate them to respond to the challenges of the moment and to operate within multinational forces.

At the occasion of the Battalion’s anniversary, seven members have been promoted and five members presented with awards and commendations.

The ceremonial review was followed by a mass served by military chaplains, Maj. Alojz Kovaček and  f. Drago Majić.
