Croatian Defence Academy Transformation Analyis
The „Kovčanje“ Barracks in Mali Lošinj from 4 to 7 July 2013 hosted the final analysis of the Study for Accreditation of University Teaching Programmes.
The event was attended by a number of dignitaries (the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, Lt. Col. Drago Lovrić, Deputy Defence Minister, Ms. Višnja Tafra, Assistant Minister of Defence, Ms. Sunčana Vukelić, Vice-rector of the University of Zagreb, Ms. Blaženka Divjak, Home Policy Advisor to the President of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Siniša Tatalović, as well as by Croatian Army Commander, Maj. Gen. Dragutin Repinc, Commander of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence, Brig. Gen. Dražen Šćuri and the Croatian Navy Commander, Commodore Robert Hranj).
Also participating were the deans, the vice-deans and professors of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Electronic Engineering and Computing, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, Faculty of Organisation and Informatics, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Faculty of Civil Engineering.
The concluding analysis was moderated by the Director of the Croatian Defence Academy, Lt. Gen. Slavko Barić.
It has been agreed to have the commanders of the services of the Armed Forces and the heads of the directorates of the General Staff familiarised with the proposed Study at a following Collegium meeting, followed by the accreditation and international review.
Furthermore, the procedure has been initiated to prepare the respective Decision by the Government of the Republic of Croatia to open special study programmes of interest for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia and to regulate the interaction between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia and the University of Zagreb.
