Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Bases “Open Day”
The 22nd Anniversary of the establishment of the Croatian Air Force and Air Force was marked by the „Open Day“ held at the 91st Air Base and the 93rd Air Bases on Friday, 13 December 2013.
The exhibition space of the 93rd Air Base featured the exhibits of the aircraft used in the Homeland War as well as the air defence systems and the aircraft operated by the military pilots today (the ZLIN 242 L and the PC-9 M (Pilatus) airplanes, the Bell 206 B Jet Ranger III Helicopter, the AT 802 A/F (Airtractor) and the Canadair CL 415 firefighting aircraft).
In addition to the aircraft enumerated, the visitors of the 91st Base could see the AN-32B transport aircraft, the MIG-21 fighter aircraft, the Mi-171 Sh helicopter and the support items (e.g. aircraft power units, firefighting vehicles, special purpose hoists) indispensable for flying tasks.
The Open Day programme also included the performance of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Aerobatic Group „Wings of Storm“, which was their season’s closing performance, and an exhibition stand providing the information on the recruiting projects run by the Croatian Armed Forces and the military pilot career opportunities.
