Croatian military helicopters rescue eight patients over the weekend
The Transport Helicopter Squadron of the 93rd Croatian Air Force and Air Defence Base rescued a total of eight patients from the Croatian islands from 8-10 August 2014.
On Friday, 8 August the Mi-8 MTV helicopter performed a medical flight from the island of Rab, transporting two local residents and a German patient to the University Hospital Centre in Rijeka, and two residents of Blato in the island of Korčula to the University Hospital Centre in Split respectively.
On Friday night into Saturday morning, and during Saturday, 9 August, the crew rescued a Slovenian and a Czech tourist and a Korčula resident from the central Adriatic islands and transported them to the University Hospital Centre in Split.
So far in 2014, the crews have conducted 195 urgent interventions and rescued 294 patients.
