The crews of the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, helicopters taking part in the “Velebit 18” EX on 14 October performed a night time engaging of land targets in the Training Range “Crvena Zemlja” near Knin.

Four OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopters were engaged in two two independent and co-ordinated teams, with the Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) co-ordinating the operation with the land forces.

According to the scenario the exercise commenced with the JTAC guiding the attack by helicopters against the target (according to the established procedures), followed by an attack  by the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior teams, which engaged the targets with plunging fire.
