Minister Krstičević meets with Minister for Kosovo Security Forces

The Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević on 7 November 2018 met with Minister for the Kosovo Security Forces Rrustem Berisha, on what was his second fficial visit to Croatia in the current year (the previous one was on the occasion of the special meeting of the U.S.- Adriatic Charter (A5) in Zagreb in July 2018.

The two ministers praised very good bilateral relations focussed on strengthening the regional security and stability  underlining Croatia’s strong  support for the Euro-Atlantic agenda of the countries of southeast Europe, and the strong partnership developed with Kosovo, exercised primarily through the education of a number of members of  Kosovo Security Forces in the Croatian Defence Academy “Dr Franjo Tuđman” in Zagreb.

Minister Krstičević stated the Republic of Croatia would  continue strongly promoting NATO’s and the EU ‘s “”open door” policy, which is a key to the stability and progress of southeast Europe along with the required organisational reforms. During the briefing Minister Berisha briefed his Croatian counterpart on the transformation of Kosovo Security Force.”

The Minister of Kosovo Security Forces then visited the “HS Produkt” factory in Karlovac, to opening the opportunities for the Croatian military industry and co-operation directed on the modernisation of Kosovo Security Forces  MInister Berisha praised the professionalism and top-level trainedness of the Croatian Armed Forces and its readiness to share its expertise with its partners and to assist Kosovo to achieve membershio in Euro-Atlantic integrations.

Minister Berisha expressed appreciation to the Croatian Ministry of Defence for the open support and for the years-long engagement of the Croatian Armed Forces in KFOR “Croatia is a friendly country and a strategic partner in the region for Kosovo. The objective of our visit was to further promote the co-operation in the interest of peace and stability of the entire region. The  membership in NATO is our strategic goal and we hope to learn valuable experience from Croatia. 

The Ministar extended the invitation to Minister Kstičević for an official visit to Kosovo.

After the meeting the Minister of Kosovo visited the Croatian Defence Academy and met with the members of the Kosovo Security Force taking education programmes at the Academy, and also visited the Centre for Security Co-operation (RACVIAC) and the International Military Operations Training Centre (IMOTC).
