A ceremonial military parade will be held on Thursday, 31 July 2025, along Ulica grada Vukovara in Zagreb, stretching from Avenija Marina Držića to Savska ulica, commencing at 5:00 p.m. The event will provide citizens with a unique opportunity to witness the operational readiness, capabilities, and discipline of the Croatian Armed Forces first-hand.

The parade will include over 3,400 participants in more than 20 formations, featuring personnel from the Croatian Armed Forces, the Ministry of the Interior, the Civil Protection Directorate, the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service, the Judicial Police, the Croatian Firefighting Association, Croatian war veterans, historical military units, and members of allied armed forces.

In addition to marching formations, the parade will feature motorised and mechanised units comprising over 500 combat and support vehicles. A spectacular aerial display will take place over Zagreb, showcasing more than 40 aircraft from the Croatian Air Force and the Ministry of the Interior – including helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, and the state-of-the-art Rafale multirole combat aircraft.

A live broadcast of the Croatian Navy’s ceremonial sail-past will be displayed on large video screens, adding a powerful visual element to the parade and showcasing the Navy’s vessels, capabilities, and role within Croatia’s defence system.

As part of the parade, the public will also have the opportunity to see newly introduced weapons systems and modern military equipment — including the Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicle, the Leopard main battle tank, and small combat drones — showcasing Croatia’s technological progress and continued investment in strengthening its defence capabilities.

The event will also feature a rich cultural and artistic programme to complement the ceremonial proceedings.

Objava Military parade in Zagreb to honour Operation Storm pojavila se prvi puta na MORH.

The ceremony at the French Air Force Base Mont-de-Marsan will be attended by Defence Minister Mario Banožić together with the Head of the Office of the Prime Minister Zvonimir Frka-Petešić and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Croatian War Veterans Tom Medved and a delegation of the Croatian Armed Forces led by the Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces General Staff Admiral Robert Hranj.

It is the first of the 12 Rafale aircraft, a twin-engine multirole combat aircraft of the 4.5+ generation of the French manufacturer Dassault Aviation, which the Republic of Croatia is acquiring from the French Republic for the needs of the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence.

After the official reception ceremony of the Rafale aircraft in France, the Croatian pilots will fly to the Bordeaux Training Center, where further training will be conducted for employees of the aviation technical service and the Croatian Air Force pilots.

Objava Official handover ceremony of the first Rafale multirole combat aircraft in France pojavila se prvi puta na MORH.

Formal dinner will be held in the National and University Library in Zagreb on 4 March at 19.00.

Media representatives will have the opportunity to cover the arrival of the senior officials in front of the National and University Library by 17.30 and the opportunity for doorstep statements.  To do so they are advised to arrive to the National and University Library by  16.40 to clear the mandatory security check.

Furthermore, the signing ceremony for the Memorandum of  Understanding on Cyber  Rapid Response Teams (CRRTs) and Mutual Assistance in Cyber Security  will take place in the National and University Library at 21:05. On Wednesday, 4 March, 2020, the EU defence ministers will gather for a working dinner at the National and University Library in Zagreb at 19.00.

Objava Informal EU Defence Ministers Meeting in Zagreb pojavila se prvi puta na MORH.

The Meeting will be co-chaired by the Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Damir Krstičević and the Defence Minister of Montenegro Predrag Bošković.

The meeting will gather the defence ministers and other senior officials of the U.S. – Adriatic Charter nations to discuss the enhanced presence of the United States in southeast Europe, the steps to take to speed up the integration of the remaining aspirants from the region to NATO, the security situation in the region and the shared burden of defence investments between the United States and Europe.
The U.S.- Adriatic Charter is a regional partner initiative launched by Croatia, Albania, Macedonia and the United States in 2003, and joined by Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro in 2008. The key objective of the initiative is to provide support to the Euro-Atlantic processes in Southeast Europe and to bring about the integration of all NATO member states.

Objava U.S. Secretary of Defense to attend U.S. – Adriatic Charter meeting in Zagreb pojavila se prvi puta na MORH.

Minister Krstičević will meet with the U.S. Secretary of Defense, James Mattis and other senior officials. The Minister is to visit the Lockheed  Martin Corporation, and will meet with its Vicepresident for international co-operation. In ACT (Norfolk)  the Minister will be welcomed by SACT, General Denis Mercier.

Minister Krstičević is to discuss the joint contribution to the international security in the crisis spots and the efforts invested in fighting the terrorism.
Joint activities in NATO, the security and political situation in the Croatian neighbourhood  and in south Europe, the expansion of the bilateral defence co-operation and the continued U.S: assistance and support to the development of the Croatian defence capabilities. The Minister will also meet with the Croatians living in the United States.

The visit of Minister Krstičević to the United States, including the visit to the Department of Defense, testifies of the excellent relations of two strategic allies and partners who share the common interest, values and the responsibility for the global security, including the Coalition to Counter ISIL. Alongside other allies the Republic of Croatia makes its infrastructure available for use in the international counterterrorist efforts. The respective activities are carried out in compliance with the bilateral agreements agreements and in synergy with other members of the Coalition.

The Republic of Croatia highly apprreciates the United States’ assistance through donations of equipment and weapons, education and training programmes, the strategic airlift to the international missions and operstions area of operations and other defence co-operation activities. The support from the U.S., in the value of ca 500 mil USD, has been crucial for the development of the Croatian defence capabilities Furthermore, both Croatia and the United States being  committed to the welfare of the defenders and veterans and their families, Croatia is assisting with the search of the remains of  the crew of the B-24 Tulsamerican aircraft, crashing in the aquatory of the island of Vis on 17 December 1944.

The ministers will also meet in the NATO-Georgia Commission format, to be briefed on the plans of defence reforms in Georgia, and will be informed to a greater detail on the plans of future operation within the new NATO operation in Afghanistan titled “Resolute Support”.

Objava Central European Defence Ministers Meet in Mali Lošinj pojavila se prvi puta na MORH.

It was attended by the President of the Republic of Croatia as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Ivo Josipović, the Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia, Lt. Gen. Drago Lovrić, senior military and state officials, former chiefs of the General Staff and the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia, H. E. Kenneth Merten. The Exercise constitutes the first part of the Exercise known as “Spremnost-13” (“Readiness 13”), to take place from 3 – 11 May 2013.

The Distinguished Visitors were welcomed by the Croatian Army Commander, Maj. Gen. Dragutin Repinc, as well as by the Executive Officer of the Exercise and the Commander of the Mechanised Guard Brigade, Col. Boris Šerić and the Exercise Director, Col. Tihomir Kundid, who briefed the attendants on the Exercise. The purpose of the live-fire Exercise was to display trainedness and preparedness of the Motorised Brigade’s units for rapid and efficient preparation and execution of defensive and offensive operations through co-ordinated inter-branch and inter-service operation with the U.S. Air Force (represented by two F-16 aircraft from the Aviano Air Base, Italy) and with the Croatian Air Force and Air Defence respectively (flying two MiG 21s and a M1-171-Sh helicopter)

The Exercise in the simulated battlefield conditions in the 40-min time frame displayed integrated fire, fire and manoeuvre control as well as the manoeuvre and firing capacities of the combat assets employed. The Exercise Scenario included phased operation of a reinforced mechanised battalion (through defence preparation, defence execution, transition into the offensive and pursuit).  

Over 700 members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatian and the United States participated in the Exercise – including the Motorised Brigade Command, the Brigade’s “Grom” Battalion (the Batt Command and the 1st Mechanised Coy with the “Patria” APVs and the “Metis” anti-tank device, the Fire Support Coy with the 120-mm mortars and the Recce Platoon), the Mechanised Guard Brigade’s Tank Platoon  (with the M-84 tanks), the Motorised Brigade’s “Vukovi” Battalion (with the “Fagot” anti-tank system and  82-mm mortars), the Motorised Brigade’s Air Defence Battalion (the Air Defence Platoon with the 20/3 anti-aircraft guns) and Artillery and Missile Battalion (with the 122-mm D-30 and SPRL Howitzers), the Motorised Brigade FAC team, the Military Intelligence Battalion team with the “Skylark” UAV and the Croatian and the U.S. Air Force forces.

In his statement for the media following the Exercise President Josipović rated the readiness of the participants as excellent. “The Exercise organisation, preparation and conduct of the Exercise were excellent and demonstrated well-coordinated operation of the Croatian Armed Forces members with the Allies’ troops.
Minister Kotromanović pointed out the complexity of the Exercise and a number of the elements observed. “We shall work on to keep the members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia trained, prepared, motivated and strong. Every soldier has to strive towards perfection”, stated the Minister.

The Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Drago Lovrić expressed his pride over the readiness of the members of the Croatian Armed Forces, who have been receiving commendations from the partner nations, the Allies and NATO alike. “We have the capability to defend the national territory, to participate in international operations as well as to train other nations” said Lt. Gen. Lovrić.

The second part of the Exercise is scheduled immediately upon conclusion of the first, and entails national evaluation of the 2nd Mechanised Guard Coy of the 1st Mechanised Guard Brigade (“Tigrovi”) in preparation for the NATO Response Force.

The Course was co-designed by the Croatian and Czech Air Force teams, with the advisory support from the U. S. Special Operations Command for Europe (SOCEUR), and has been filed into the “Smart Defence” Initiative. The crews completed the initial part of the Course at flight simulator in Ostrava, Czech Republic, which was followed by two-week advanced flight training on the Mi 171 Sh helicopters of the Croatian Air Force and the Mi-24 fighter helicopter of the Czech Air Force respectively.

The trainees were welcomed by the Chief of the Staff of the 93rd Air Base, Lt. Col. Davor Tretinjak, an ISAF participant himself, who shared his own experiences from mentoring of Afghan Air Force members and emphasized the role of the Course as a well-conceived and well-prepared innovative entry to ISAF.

The 4th Course is a preparation of the personnel for assignment to Mazar-e-Sharif. The Croatian Air Advisors have become the Coalition’s Lead Nation for Afghan Air Force personnel and the sole qualified flying mission advisory team.

“The fact that Croatian Air Advisory Team has been invested with the role of Coalition’s Lead Nation speaks of the high standards implemented by the Croatia team since the first advisory missions. The Courses of the AAT contribute to consistency of approach by all multinational mentoring teams. The Courses are also an occasion for trainees to interact closer, in addition to the official communication, to become a well-coordinated team. The experiences from the former terms are a welcome aid for further preparation and training for the mission assigned to us in order to capacitate the Afghanistan Air Force to operate autonomously to fulfill all requests placed before the flying and maintenance personnel in Afghanistan”, stated the Commander of the 4th Course, Lt. Col. Michael Križanec.

The wounded private is recovering in the hospital of the Camp Marmal. She is in a stable condition and within the next days is to be re-deployed to Croatia for further treatment.

President Josipović stated that commemorating the Operation was a sign of profound appreciation to the soldiers losing their lives to the Operation as a magnificient and important victory of the Croatian Armed Forces and Police that initiated liberation of the Homeland. Without the “Lightning” and the “Storm” Operations, added the President, we would not today have free Croatia.

The Minister of the Croatian Homeland War Veterans Predrag Matić opened a Memorial Room at Okučani, in remembrance of the defenders fallen in the “Lightning “Operation.

The ceremony included the mass served in the church of St. Vitus for all fallen Croatian defenders, the  and civilian casualties of the Homeland War, the performance of a ceremonial programme by members of the Honorary and Protection Battalion and sport games of the veterams and volunteers of the Homeland War of the Brod-Posavina County.

Objava 18th anniversary of the Operation “Lightning” commemorated pojavila se prvi puta na MORH.

Speaking for the media following the lecture Lt. Gen. Lovrić extended his appreciation to Gen. Bartels for visiting Croatia and for successful chairing the NATO Military Committee. “We discussed the ISAF and KFOR Operations, and on Resolute Support to ensue in Afghanistan in the post-2014 period.  We also exchanged views on the situation in the region and the possibilities for co-operation of Croatia with the neighbouring countries in NATO-led operations, and, in addition, considered the Smart Defence concept and enhancement of the operation pre-deployment system”, said Lt. Gen. Lovrić.

General Bartels commended Croatia’s participation in NATO-led operations, particularly in ISAF and KFOR. Speaking of KFOR, Gen. Bartels welcomed the recent Agreement reached between Serbia and Kosovo and stated that NATO would wholeheartedly support its implementation. On the subject of the international assistance to stability in Afghanistan Gen. Bartels said that it was going to rest on training at the national and institutional level, and that the respective planning was underway and stressed that security of the territory and population of the NATO nations remains the key mission of the Alliance, which is to open a new stage following the year 2014, with the Connected Forces Initiative and Smart Defence playing a prominent part, and Croatia is going to have a leading role in the region in the latter one.

The topics discussed with the Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović included regional security and the necessity of enhanced defence co-operation with the neighbouring countries, as well as modalities of development of the Smart Defence concept, and the projects whose development could be supported by participation of the Croatian Armed Forces.

Objava NATO Military Committee Chairman visits Croatia pojavila se prvi puta na MORH.

“The Republic of Croatia has been and remains open for intensified co-operation in that regard, and today’s meeting is opening the door towards enhanced and more diversified defence relations, which should be continued through future meetings at the decision-making level”, stated minister Kotromanović.

The two sides agreed that bilateral defence co-operation can best be intensified through mutual contribution to regional and international security as well as in the framework of the Euro-Atlantic integration and through enhanced military-economic co-operation. The two ministries should assist in that regard by preparing the ground for joint appearance of the defence industries of the two countries in third markets.

Objava Defence Minister Kotromanović meets Defence Minister of Serbia pojavila se prvi puta na MORH.

Opening the Exhibition the President Josipović has stated that security is now a concept far broader compared to the earlier understanding and comprises combating terrorism, organised crime and modern cybercrime, and also said that the Exhibition speaks of the Croatian Government’s policy regarding collective security principles. “I’m glad that  the Croatian military industry has a lot to display, and that the Exhibition serves as an occasion for further development of the relations among the countries in that aspect”. The President also expressed his conviction that the exchange of information would foster the future co-operation.

Defence Minister Ante Kotromanović has for his part emphasized that the ASDA Exhibition ASDA 2013 is a prime business event and an occasion to compare the respective achievements and new advancements in defence industry and a platform for contacts between the exhibitors and the customers. The Republic of Croatia, said Minister Kotromanović, has pledged full support to Croatian defence manufacturers.  
The Minister concluded with expressing the belief that the Exhibition would become a place for new business successes and for encounters with new ideas and products.

Justin Webb, the TNT Production Manager, on behalf of the organiser has stated that the ASDA objective is to provide a meeting place for governments and representatives of military and defence industries to discuss common defence strategies and technologies. He extended his gratitude on behalf of the company to the Government and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Croatia for the support and the assistance provided with organisation of the Exhibition.

The ASDA formal opening ceremony was attended by a number of senior government and military officials as well as senior foreign delegations and exhibitors’ representatives.

The ceremony programme included a demonstration exercise by Navy, Air Force and Air Defence, and the Special Operations Battalion units and a performance by the aerobatic group of the Croatian Air Force – the “Wings of Storm” and by the Military Police Corps, who displayed handling of the military working dogs.

The Exhibition remains open for visitors until 26 April 2013 and will include a series of bilateral meetings.
