Croatian chairmanship of the Central European Defence Cooperation in 2021
Introduction
Over the years, the Central European Defence Cooperation (CEDC) has confirmed its practical importance as an effective platform for promoting defence dialogue and cooperation in Central Europe.
The CEDC is a regional security and defence initiative, founded in 2010 by gathering the Central European countries – Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia. Poland takes part in the Initiative as observer.
The cooperation within the framework of Central European Defence Cooperation takes place at the levels of defence ministers and defence policy directors, which form the basis for practical cooperation between experts and the armed forces.
The chairmanship of the initiative rotates on an annual basis.
